In her exhibition 'Private Dialogues on a Public Coffee Invitation', Janis (re)creates a Greek traditional kafenio-ouzeri (coffee shop with Greek coffee & ouzo) in the gallery, inviting the public to become an active part of this installation. Along with the videos projected in the space and the dialogues printed in free copies, the exhibitions visitors will be welcomed to smell the basils spread in the room and taste Greek coffee on round coffee tables. Using the table as an element of this private as well as public sphere, the work 'Private Dialogues on a Public Coffee Invitation' it could perhaps be read as a ground open for participation and possible conversation between, often rigid, cultural boundaries.
